CHINESE MILITARY INTELLIGENCE GATHERING SHIP SHADOWS HMS SPEY OFF JAPAN
HMS Spey joined the large scale multi-national exercise off the coast of Japan.
Exercise Keen sword is a Japanese and US run exercise involving more than 36,000 personnel across Japanese waters, land and airspace. HMS Spey, a Royal Navy Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Vessel, joined other units from Canada and Australia to work alongside the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force and US Navy.
Whilst the 21 allied participating units were operating off the shores of Japan, a Chinese military intelligence gathering ship ‘shadowed’ the exercise.
