HMS Queen Elizabeth departing HMNB Portsmouth
Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH departed from HMNB Portsmouth this afternoon ahead of her participation in GROUPEX and Exercise JOINT WARRIOR. Ships from the Royal Navy, the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) and the United States Navy (USN) will train together as a multi-national Carrier Strike Group (CSG).
F-35B jets from the United Kingdom and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) will embark HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH forming the largest air group on a Royal Navy aircraft carrier since the Falklands War in 1982 and creating a fixed wing war fighting capability unprecedented since the WW2.
